English: Army North Carolina National Guard Staff Sgt. Teri Staton, a member of the 430th Explosive Ordnance Detachment, practices maneuvering the Talon bomb search robot at Fort Pickett, Va., during the unit’s recent annual training exercise. During the unit’s annual training, more than a dozen of their unit’s bomb technicians practiced building and igniting "shots" using a variety of munitions during training at Range 4D on Fort Pickett. The 430th’s soldiers conducted hands-on classes in the basics of demolition, using percussion actuated neutralizers, modular demolition initiators, timed fuses, blasting caps and small arms and mortar rounds. |
