Solnhofen limestone has proved best Liethographie-stone in the world and the getting of the stone has become with the introduction of lithography a serious branch of mining.
Deutsch: Die Collage symbolisiert die Geschichte vom solnhofenern Kalkstein. Unten links befindet sich Porträt vom Erfinder der Lithographie am Ende des XVIII Jahrhundertes Alois Senefelder. Solnhofener Kalkstein hat sich als bester Liethographie-Stein der Welt erwiesen und der Abbau des Steines ist mit der Einführung der Lithographie eine ernsthafte Branche der Bergbau geworden.
