Français : Lille (France -département du Nord) — Fontaine Vallon. La fontaine Vallon* érigée en hommage à Paul Vallon, préfet du Nord chargé de l'agrandissement de la Ville de Lille en 1858 est due à l'architecte Charles Marteau et au sculpteur Henri Biebuyck La statue du préfet fut volée par les allemands durant la Première Guerre Mondiale et ne fut jamais remplacée. L'édifice peu entretenu et perdant de son lustre est remplacé par un immeuble contemporain dont la localisation posa question de part son emplacement entre le Musée des Beaux-Arts et l'Hôtel des postes, deux édifices du XIXe siècle de la place de la République.
