Summary edit
Description61-224-P Joslyn Rifle Cal 69 (14998318761).jpg |
Accession: 61-224-P Joslyn Rifle Cal 69, M1864 This rifle was recently conserved and returned to NHHC. This is the second model; breech loading, single-shot, . 52 caliber rimfire system. The rifle was designed for use by mounted soldiers. NHHC'S gun collection has several weapons which do not have a Navy provenance. These are important in their own right as examples and show the evolution of weapons. Collection of Curator Branch: Naval History and Heritage Command. |
