Description

Resting in the weeds is 66086 waiting to collect the loaded scrap wagons from the scrap yard at Swindon, this train takes the scrap to Liverpool docks. The line was the Swindon to Highworth branch and my dad spent many days as a kid watching Pannier tanks grace this line in the 1950s, he was so regular at this exact spot that he knew the drivers and would often have a chat whilst the train would wait at a signal to gain access onto the mainline, and today as this train crept past me the driver popped his head out of the window and said hi, Like father like son 50 odd years later.

The building in the background is the BMW factory, formerly Leyland and Rover plant.
