Description 80-G-31611: North African Invasion, November 1942. French destroyer Albatros beached off Casablanca, Morocco on 16 November 1942. Badly damaged during the Battle of Casablanca on 8 November, her third smokestack is almost completely destroyed, and her port side appears to be heavily stained by fuel oil. Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
