Description 80-G-46166: Wearing an underwater face mask, Navy Seabee George A. Lundberg, MM3c, USNR, readies his spring-driven fish spear before venturing into the shark-infested waters at a South Pacific base. The mask, which makes it possible for the wearer to see many things on the bottom of the lagoon and the spear are improvised. Released August 1, 1944. U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives. (2016/07/05).
