Description 80-G-79410: German U-boat incident #3992, August 9, 1943. German submarine, U 664, sinking after an attack by Lieutenant Junior Grade G.G. Hogan, USNR. Forty-four survivors were picked up and taken on board USS Card (CVE 11). This view was taken by another aircraft during the attack, piloted by Lieutenant Junior Grade C.G. Hewitt, USNR. (8/18/2015).
