Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_93393_20221117_113533.jpg Notes: תוחלת היה יישוב כפרי במרכז מישור החוף, כשני ק"מ דרומית-מזרחית לצומת בית דגן. הוא נוסד בשנת 1949 על ידי קבוצת עולים מהונגריה וצ'כוסלובקיה. במשך השנים עברו להתגורר בו גם משפחות של עולים מתימן ומברית המועצות. בתחילה עסקו רוב המתיישבים בחקלאות, ולאחר זמן מה החלו לעסוק במתן שירותים ובעבודות חוץ. בשנת 1966 החליטה ועדה ממשלתית לספח את קרקעות תוחלת לכפר חב"ד, בניגוד לרצון התושבים, לאחר מסע לחצים של תנועת חב"ד על ראשי המדינה. בשנות ה-70 פונו רוב משפחות הכפר.
