Summary edit

Description
English: 93 Friar Gate, Derby A fine town house, with rusticated ground floor, built in 1846. The architect was Henry Isaac Stevens. This house is the last remaining building associated with the former Royal Institution for the Deaf and Dumb (later known by the more tasteful name of Royal School for the Deaf) - the main buildings were demolished in 1973 and the site developed with modern flats (known as Friar Gate Court). Today 93 Friar Gate is used as offices.
