Description A U.S. Navy Douglas A4D-1 Skyhawk (BuNo 139944) of Attack Squadron VA-72 Hawks during carrier suitability tests. VA-72 took the A4D-1 to sea only for "Operation Strikeback" aboard the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga (CVA-60) from 3 September to 22 October 1957. The squadron then transitioned to the A4D-2.
