| Description | A Royal Navy Douglas Skyraider AEW.1 (s/n WV179) assigned to 849 Naval Air Squadron from HMS Victorious (R38) lands aboard the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Essex (CVA-9). The Skyraider WV179 had been ordered by the U.S. Navy as BuNo 124115. It was accepted on 1 December 1950, sold to the Royal Navy on 31 March 1953 and written off on 20 November 1959. |
