Description An XAIM-54A Phoenix air-to-air missile is launched from the Douglas NA-3A Skywarrior (BuNo 135427), which was used as a testbed, on 8 September 1966. A Grumman F-9J Cougar is visible in the background. Note that the NA-3A has been fitted with an AWG-9 radar.
