English: Distorted panoramic photo of the old brick buildings and other structures by the Fortress Square (Norwegian: Festningsplassen) from the 19th century at the Akershus Fortress military area , in Oslo, Norway:
  • "The Military Materials Building" (Materialgården),
  • General Glad's Manor (Commander's Residence), a romantic villa, designed by architect Nebelong and built in 1847.
    • Plaque on the wall: "In front of this Commander's residence, the occupying forces returned Akershus Fortress to the Norwegian home forces on May 11, 1945" (the military authorities of Nazi Germany, which had occupied Norway during the Second World War from 1940 to 1945, handed back control of Akershus Fortress to Norway on this site)
  • The Commandant's Building (Captain's Watchmaster Residence/Platoon Leader Residence), an empire-style wooden residence built in 1800
  • Grev Wedels Square (Norrwegian: Grev wedels plass), a street address for several buildings at Akershus
  • In the left part of the picture are the "National Monument for the Victims of the War 1940-45" by Gunnar Janson 1970 and the old Akershus Fortress (inner fortress).
