English: Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)
The department offers a four full year time graduate programme in Physiotherapy with six months internship. The course is affiliated to the University of Calicut. Programme Structure During the first year the student will gain a thorough knowledge in the basic subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, microbiology and computer science. The IInd year is to provide exposure to Massage, Pathology, Psychology, Sociology, and Pharmacology including medicine, surgery, Plastic surgery and Gynecology. During the IIIrd year; training is imparted to develop professional skill in physiotherapy. Students get expertise in electrotherapy and exercise therapy. Clinical postings begin in this term. Along with the continuing clinical postings; students are taken to advanced physiotherapy techniques in Orthopaedics, Neurology, and Cardiothoracic disorders in the final year.
