gt. Det saknar alldeles det kalligrafiska och sötsliskigaoch är af en något sträf, utprägladt manlig karaktär. Ehurusamma sorts figurer förekomma på hans teckningar, är hanmindre enformig än de flesta skämtritare, därför att hvarje typär så bestämdt individuahserad. Också jämföres han i så all-varliga konsttidskrifter som LArt Möderne och Chronique desArts med Degas, den definitiva liniens stormästare. Vi nordborfinna en likhet mellan hans och den utmärkte norske konstnärenWerenskiolds maner. För det dockvackra fasade han, och därför har man före-brått honom, att han aldrig ritat vackra damer. Den före-bråelsen gäller dock på långt när ej så mycket om Keene somom Albert Engström. Genombläddrar man Keenes teckningar,samlade under titeln Our People, blir man dock slagen af den majo-ritet, hvari männen befinna sig. Pä hans akvareller förekommaemellertid kvinnotyper af ädel skönhet, och små nätta engelskor, 253 ENGLAND UNDER DROTTNING VIKTORIA.
