Summary
editDescriptionA Gey Stony Pairk - geograph.org.uk - 1235360.jpg |
English: A Gey Stony Pairk The Scots word 'gey' means 'very' and a 'pairk' is a field or paddock. This one has an astonishing number of angular stones of all kinds on its surface, reflecting the stony content of the glacial till which blankets the land around here. It must have been an ill place to plough and harrow, especially before the advent of tractors. The buildings at Edinglassie Mains, at the foot of the brae, are in the next square. |
