Summary edit

Description
English: Taken in October 1969, this photo shows L843 (FKF843E) a 1967 Leyland Atlantean with Metro-Cammell 71-seater bodywork in Water Street near Pier Head waiting to depart on route 75 to Huyton Station. This vehicle was one of a number fitted with front entrance/centre exit for one-man operation in the late 1960s. Its operator, Liverpool Corporation Passenger Transport was merged into the Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive on the 1st December 1969, together with the Birkenhead and Wallasey transport undertakings. Arriva North West and Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire now operate the majority of bus services in Liverpool, some being under a joint quality bus partnership.
