Summary edit

Description
English: A Tablet at Ogwen Honouring Charles Darwin and Evan Roberts. Charles Darwin first visited Cwm Idwal in 1831, but it was only following a much later visit that he began to formulate his ideas about the glacial origin of Cwm Idwal. Evan Roberts, who I knew, was a self-taught botanist. Having been made redundant with the closure of the Rhos Quarry at Capel Curig in 1953, SH7256, he was appointed the first warden of Cwm Idwal. He was a recognised world expert on alpine plants.
