Description
English: A U.S. Soldier, right, assigned to 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment greets an Iraqi Soldier in the streets of Ahdamiya, Iraq, Dec. 11, 2006, during Operation Cougar. The purpose of the operation is to bring sectarian violence and insurgency activities down, while increasing Iraqi Security Force capabilities for securing the area themselves. The Iraqi soldier, assigned to 1st Mechanized Brigade, 9th Iraqi Army Division is driving a BMP-1 amphibious tracked infantry fighting vehicle.
