DescriptionA boy uses a stick to splash the water in a stream beneath a new bridge in Negele Borena, Ethiopia, Dec. 5, 2011 111205-F-UE958-377.jpg |
English: A boy uses a stick to splash the water in a stream beneath a new bridge in Negele Borena, Ethiopia, Dec. 5, 2011. U.S. Sailors with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5 and Soldiers with the 1st Battalion, 161st Field Artillery and Army Civil Affairs teams built the 50-meter bridge to enable pedestrians and livestock to cross the river. During heavy rainfall, the water level at the site can exceed depths of 10 feet, with currents strong enough to sweep away people and livestock. |
