()7DOMENICO GHIRLANDAIO: 1449-1494 Florentine School PORTRAIT OF FRANCESCO SASSETTI AND HIS SON, TEODORO HALF-LENGTH figures, Smaller than life-size, Francesco, seatedin front, full-face, eyes looking downwards, wears a red fur-trimmed gown, f^istened round the waist with black cord, to whichis attached a pouch ; his right arm rests on the arm of his redchair. On the right his son, who is seen in profile to the left,and, with hands clasped, stands looking up at him. The boy wearsa grey, brocaded dress trimmed with white fur, dark green under-sleeves, and a scarlet cap. Through a window at the back areseen the sea, and a mountainous landscape with buildings. Across the upper part of the panel is an inscription : Fran-ciscvs Saxettvs Theodorvs Que.
