It is common to consider the lower temperature as 70 degreesalthough this may be somewhat lower in the winter. As most steam turbine in-stallations are figured on a 28 inch vacuum the drops mentioned above are foundto be applicable. 3. The amount of cooling water required per pound of steam in a sur-face condenser is dependent upon the vacuum, the temperature of the condensedsteam, and the rise in the temperature of the cooling water.
