t seem to beany reason why they should not have executed the work. This and the other Pall, No. 10, were exhibited at Iron-mongers Hall in 1861, at the South Kensington Museum in 1862(numbered 3017 and 3023), also at the Society of Antiquariesin 1874, at the Loan Exhibition of Ancient EcclesiasticalEmbroideries held at the Royal School of Art Needlework in1884 (numbered 176 and 177), and at the Tudor Exhibition in1890 and numbered 1173 and 1174. The Company would appear to have been in some danger in1830 of losing this and the other pall, as well as the tapestry 21 (No. 23), as appears by the following resolution of the Court) ofFebruary 25 in that year: Resolved that it be referred to theMaster and Wardens to direct the funeral palls and tapestryCarpet lately delivered up by the Beadle Thomas Hasted to beplaced or deposited in such manner as they shall think proper sothat the same be not removed from the premises. It was notuntil 1885 that they were framed and hung upon the walls. 22
