r. John W. Y. Smith, of Dorchester, son of the late SirAlbert Smith, and Miss Cornelia de Lancy Robinson, daughterof the late Maj. W. B. Robinson, were wedded at Trinity Churchat 5 oclock last Wednesday. The bride was attended by hersister, Miss Robinson, while Mr. William Starr lent his aid tothe groom. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Canon Brig-stocke, assisted by Rev. Dean Campbell, rector of Dorchester.After the ceremony the wedding party repaired to the home ofthe bride, where a few immediate friends had assembled. Later,by the 10.30 train, Mr. and Mrs. Smith left for Dorchester.They will reside in Moncton. Some of the presents were exceed-ingly handsome. The grooms present to the bride was a goldring set with opals and diamonds. To the bridesmaid he pre-sented a beautiful cable-chain bracelet. He married, second,Jane Smith, daughter of Jeremiah andSmith. She died 1850. Josiah, in company with his brothers, Albert,3 Thomasand Miller,5 built vessels on the banks of North River, nearthe bridge, at Hanover. L. Vernon Briggs gives an ex-tended account of this in his book. History of Ship-building on North River. Josiah was an enterprisingbusiness man, and his descendants were and are worthy ofthe stock from whence they sprung. Josiah built thehouse afterwards owned by Benjamin Pratt, on Elm Street,Hanover, near Curtis Crossing. He died
