| Description |
English: A new platform for the DLR at Stratford When the Docklands Light Railway opened in 1987, the arrangements at Stratford were never satisfactory. Docklands trains used Platform 4, which was very narrow and could have been dangerous, as if a passenger had fallen in front of a train, nothing could have been done to save him/her, as the trains are driverless, controlled by computer. To remedy this situation, two new platforms, numbered 4a and 4b, have been provided to the south of the original one. One of these platforms is shown in use here, with car No 80 approaching. |
