English: Perspective of a cube in a regular octahedron by orthographic projection onto a plane. The vertices of the cube are the centers of the faces of the octahedron. Some notations are the same in this image and this other one. ABC and HLU are the horizontal faces of the octahedron. The inscribed and circumscribed spheres of the octahedron have the same center S, that is the center of the cube. The outline of the cube is its diagonal cross section by a vertical plane, parallel to the projection plane. The dimensions of this rectangle are d and d √2, as a paper size A3 or A4. A rectangular image of a face of the cube is a contraction of its outline with scale factor
Français : Perspective d’un cube dans un octaèdre régulier par projection orthogonale sur un plan. Les sommets du cube sont les centres des faces de l’octaèdre. Certaines notations sont les mêmes dans cette image et dans cette autre. ABC et HLU sont les faces horizontales de l’octaèdre.
