English: Elevation view and top view of the edges of a cube and a regular tetrahedron. The diagonal [VT ] of the cube is vertical, [TK ] and [MN ] are two orthogonal diagonals of two opposite faces of the cube. The equilateral triangle KMN is horizontal. The midpoint S of [VT ] is the common center of the cube and the tetrahedron TKMN. The points have the same locations in this drawing and this other one. When seen from above, the outlines of the tetrahedron and the cube are an equilateral triangle and a regular hexagon. The centroid S of the tetrahedron is also the origin of a cartesian coordinate system, of which the three axis are inclined at the same angle γ. The front view does not distort the angle between (Sz ) and a horizontal plane. A rotation of 120° around (TS ) preserves the figure. The coordinates of the vertices of TKMN are in the top view for K, M et N, and in the front view for T : (1 ; 1 ; 1).
