| Description |
English: Access Road into Gilfach Ddu This cutting occupied by the road and, on the left, by the Llanberis extension of the Lake Railway, was initially created to form a better connection between Gilfach Ddu and the Wellington district of Dinorwig Quarry than was offered by the then inadequate Glan y Bala tunnel 289438. Up to the 1960s a number of tramways ran through this cutting. The buildings on the right, the former Gilfach Ddu workshops, now form part of the Welsh Slate Museum. |
