Description
English: Acorn Estate (part), Rotherhithe Street, London, SE16 There are six other blocks that completes the estate that was built 1930/1 on ground raised 16'-0" to avoid flooding. Said to be named after a wood of oak trees that stood on the site, many many years ago, where locals let their pigs roam. On the site in 1894 was Silver Street. The estate was refurbished 1987.
