English: Across Cwm Doethie Fawr, Ceredigion The image shows the rear of Ty'n Cornel hostel in the foreground. The abandoned settlement at Coli is in the trees on the hill opposite. Apparently the sale of the building's contents took place in 1939. A bridleway, barely discernible on the ground can be see climbing through the bracken, past the tree by Ty'n Cornel's chimney, this end. The "track" can also just be seen passing through the bracken on the far hill to the settlement. Walking up here can be hard work especially after wet period in summer, tussocky grass and boggy areas slowing progress. Also, despite being open access land, keep to the bridleways on that side of the Doethie when you pass through enclosed fields in the next (Pysgotwr) valley. Visitors are not encouraged! |
