Description

Line drawing in ink and brush style from an anonymous manuscript probably dating from the end of the Qing period (1644-1911).Daimai(Belt Vessel) is one of the Eight Extraordinary Channels (Qi jing ba mai). It originates atjixie(a location corresponding to the cartilage of the 11th and 12th ribs). It encircles the body like a belt, hence its name. Acu-moxa points includedaimai(Belt Vessel);wushu(Five Pivots) andweidao(Linking Path). Pathological changes in this channel are thought to cause fullness in the abdomen (fuman) and lumbar and dorsal pain.
