Photograph of a Adam Harmer, first Superintendent of the Petrified Forest of Arizona, standing on a petrified tree bridge, ca.1900. His right arm is uplifted. He wears a hat and simple coat. He stands on a thick petrified log over a small ravine. Other smaller living trees grow below the petrified tree. In the extreme foreground, large tree branches and rocks are visible. Lines of trees can be seen in the extreme background.
