Description
English: Adolph Marius Nisted was born in Aalborg, Denmark and trained as navigator and ship's master. He started producing ship portraits in the 1860's, went ashore in 1868 and moved to Aarhus, working at the harbour. This painting of the schooner Marstal of Marstal is number 143 in his production, showing the coast at Aarhus in the background. Pen and gouache/watercolour, 45 x 61 cm.
