Description Aerial view of the TTC's Eglinton Carhouse, at Yonge, in 1948. The TTC opened the facility in 1922 -- its first new streetcar carhouse. The carhouse stored and maintained Peter Witt vehicles, which ran on Yonge and Bay streets, and was closed in 1954, when the TTC opened its first subway line, which had its northern terminus at Yonge and Eglinton.
