Summary edit

Description The U.S. Navy destroyer base, San Diego, California (USA), in early April 1941. The stripped destroyer is probably ex-USS Turner (DD-259/YW-56); the tanker is probably USS Neosho (AO-23), USS Platte (AO-24), or USS Sabine (AO-25); and the two-funneled ex-destroyer is probably USS Little (APD-4). Note the four-piper destroyers, including one on the marine railway. The tender is USS Rigel (AD-13). Part of a new housing development is visible in the background.
