Description Aerial view of the reserve fleet berthing area at the U.S. Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, Washington (USA), on 25 October 1951. Ships present include: USS Indiana (BB-58), USS Alabama (BB-60), USS Maryland (BB-46), USS Colorado (BB-47) and USS West Virginia (BB-48). Four Essex-class aircraft carriers are present: USS Ticonderoga (CV-14), USS Lexington (CV-16), USS Bunker Hill (CV-17) and USS Hancock (CV-19). A fifth Essex-class carrier is being modernized in a dry dock inthe lower right, either USS Yorktown (CV-10) or USS Kearsarge (CV-33). Also visilbe are a Commencement Bay-class escort carrier (with the arrow pointing north), an Independence-class light carrier and numerous cruisers (among them USS Vincennes (CL-64)), destroyers, destroyer escorts and auxiliaries.
