  • Italiano: Lotta di un Arimaspe con un grifone; Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli (senza nr. inv.); affresco da Pompei, Villa dei Misteri (cubicolo 11), II stile pompeiano (60-50 a.C.). Soggetto ben conosciuto, l'affresco mostra un grifo (animale fantastico che tutela i tesori di Apollo) che ha attaccato un Arimaspe (gli Arimaspi erano un mitico popolo scitico, caratterizzati da un occhio solo), il quale cerca di difendersi dagli artigli dell'animale proteggendosi con uno scudo. Ai lati un cratere d'argento ed un clipeo dorato con testa di Atena.
