Summary
editDescriptionAfghan rubab.jpg | FARAH, Afghanistan (May 08, 2010) – A band member plays the rubab during a musical performance at the Anab Gull Poetry Festival at the Farah Provincial Governors compound in Farah, Afghanistan, May 8, 2010. The festival was the first of its kind in two years and was an effort to remind the Afghan people of their rich cultural history. Male and female poets of all ages recited their poems to an audience consisting of coalition forces, provincial leadership and Afghans from all over the 10 districts of Farah province. Many poems focused on topics such as love, fruits, governance, the importance of education and the issues and beauty that lie within Afghanistan. (ISAF photo by U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Rylan K.
