Seu avô Dario Leite Carrijo foi vereador de São Sebastião e seu pai José Pereira de Aguilar foi vereador, vice-prefeito e depois prefeito eleito em Caraguatatuba no ano de 2005. Entre 2005 e 2008, Aguilar Junior aceitou a função de Chefe de Gabinete e se aproximou ainda mais deste universo. Conhecendo a realidade de Caraguatatuba e com toda a bagagem na área da saúde, direito e administração, Aguilar Junior foi candidato a prefeito em Caraguatatuba nas eleições de 2016, sendo eleito com 25.138 votos, equivalente a 42,50% do total de votos apurados. Em novembro de 2020, Aguilar Junior foi reeleito com 42,27% dos votos válidos (27.183). |
