Summary edit

Description Ailanthus (Ailanthus altissima), also called tree-of-heaven, has been in North America for more than 200 years but only in the last 60 years has it succeeded in moving from urban and community forests and into rural forests where, because it spreads primarily via wind-blown seed and sprouting root systems and spreads aggressively, it has quickly become a major threat to forests.
