Description

I was unlucky when this aircraft came in, and I am unlucky again as it departs from 24L rather than the south side 25 runways.

First delivered a year earlier, this 777-300ER, one of five in the Air New Zealand fleet, just received the special "The Hobbit" livery. Having come into Los Angeles from Auckland on its first visit with the new livery, operating as New Zealand 2, it now takes off to continue its long journey to London Heathrow.

On the ground is the tail portion of the third Boeing 787 to join the United fleet, N26902, delivered three days prior and not yet in revenue service.
