Description

A pair of Alaska 737-800s at Terminal 3. Formerly home to Trans World Airlines, Terminal 3 is now used primarily by Alaska Airlines, Virgin America, and a few other low-cost airlines.

The foreground aircraft has just arrived and is unloading baggage and refueling, while the background aircraft is departing.

The pink Hawaiian lei on the foreground aircraft's Eskimo signifies that it is capable of overwater services to Hawaii. Alaska Airlines does not fly to Hawaii from Los Angeles, but does operate nonstop Hawaii routes from Seattle, Portland, and Anchorage.

There is a Horizon Air Dash 8-Q400 hiding behind the foreground 737.
