Deutsch: letztes Bild der „großen Wittelsbacher-Serie“. Der massige Körper des Herzogs ist in leichter Wendung aus der Frontalansicht nach rechts gedreht. Bekleidet ist Albrecht IV. mit einer roten Schaube über rotem Wams. über der braunen Pelzverbrämung der Schaube liegt eine schwere Hobelspannkette. Unter dem Pelzkragen sind Teile einer Goldkette sichtbar. Den Kopf des bartlosen Fürsten bedeckt ein schwarzes Barett. Als gläubiger und frommer Mann hält er einen Rosenkranz mit Bisamapfel in seinen Händen. Vorlage wie möglicherweise bei dem Pendantporträt seiner Gemahlin Kunigunde ein Gemäldes von Hans Wertinger. |

Deutsch: Als Vorlage für das Porträt des bereits 1508 verstorbenen Herzogs nahm Beham ein vom Landshuter Maler Hans Wertinger geschaffenes Bild (München, Bayerisches Nationalmuseum), das wiederum nach einem Älteren Vorbild entstanden war. Von Behams Porträt sind mehrere Ausführungen erhalten. Eine kleineres Brustbild (Wittelsbacher Ausgleichsfonds), der „kleinen Wittelsbacher-Serie“ ist eventuell eine eigenhändige Arbeit Behams.
