Iowa land for example is worth$169 per acre and Illinois $144 on the average, with some of it ashigh as $400 or $450 per acre. The same difference obtains betweenAlberta lands and Old Countr^^ lands. Good land can be owned inAlberta for the 3early price that good land can be leased in the UnitedStates and Great Britain. Unbroken land can be had at from $20to $40 and occupied land at from $25 to $75 according to the degreeof improvement. Raw irrigable lands are obtainable at from$50 to $75 and improved irrigable lands at from $75 to $125. Itis generally possible to purchase land from private owners on termsof four or five years. Corporation lands can be secured on stilleasier terms—in some cases extending over a period of twentyyears with loans furnished by the companies for the same periodat low interest. 87
