| Description |
English: Alignment south west of the main runway at former RAF North Creake http://www.raf.mod.uk/bombercommand/s25.html provides a background to this former Bomber Command base. The main runway ran north-east south-west and was almost entirely removed after the war. In the middle of the airfield, either side of the line of the old road from Little Walsingham to Burnham Thorpe, a fragment of the runway remains between the two belts of trees. If you are really interested, you can see the base in detail on the RAF 1946 aerial photographic survey of Norfolk to be found on the excellent http://www.historic-maps.norfolk.gov.uk/ |
