English: Maj. Gen. John W. Nicholson Jr., commander of the 82nd Airborne Division, and Command Sgt. Maj. LaMarquis Knowles, command sergeant major of the 82nd Airborne Division, present a trophy to Sgt. Christopher Lord from 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, for winning the 2014 82nd Airborne Division’s Noncommissioned Officer of the Year competition. The division’s NCO of the Year competition determines the best noncommissioned officer in the division. In a glass case in the 82nd Airborne Division headquarters are the names of 28 division NCO’s of the Year, etched on gold plates from as long ago as 1955. These are the names of NCOs, past and present, who have gone above and beyond to prove themselves as the best of the best. This NCO completed the same rigorous competition as those who came before him in hopes of his name being added to that case, as well as the history of the 82nd, as the 2014 82nd Airborne Division NCO of the Year. Lord, a howitzer section gunner, is a native of Pelham, N.H., and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn in 2011. All American Week brings together current paratroopers, veterans, family members, and the community to celebrate the division's unique airborne heritage and honor its legacy. This year's All American Week theme is "Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of D-Day and the Paratrooper."
