Summary edit

Description
English: Alnus incana is locally common along the Lamar River and tributaries in the Lamar Valley. The woody pistillate cones are born from mostly short peduncles (shorter than the length of the cone). Mountain big sagebrush steppe lies on adjacent benches of the Lamar River. The profusion of young staminate catkins during the month of May contrasts to the paucity of woody pistillate catkins produced during the previous season.
