English:
Alsóváros (Lower Town) Cemetery other name Alsóváros (Lower Town) Franciscan Parish Cemetery /Est. 1776/ funeral home. The cemetery facts: size twenty hectares, sectors/plots: 34; grave places: over 20 thousand. Cserepes Stret side gate made in 1925, architect: Ferenc Bezdán. Vasgyár Street gate with boom barrier is for car entry; also there is caretaker house and the modern funeral home. Graves of notable people (among others): Sándor Bálint, Lajos Kocsis, Mihály Cserzy. Memorial crosses are to the martyred fetuses of abortion, for the deceased of the liquidated Rokusi cemetery, for the unknown soldiers of World Wars. Oldest tombs 1801 János Vetró's classicizing tombstone. Its two sides are framed by columns with Tuscan chapters and a semicircular arch with circular sections. It is on the tympanum on Johanna Sobay's tombstone from 1834.
