Description

Santuário dentro de gruta de Santa Margarida. Arrábida. Portugal.

" Vasta e maravilhosa, a maior beleza da Natureza na Arrábida. Tem duas entradas, uma sobre o mar e outra do lado da serra, com bom caminho mandado construir pela Comissão de Inciativa de Setúbal.

Tem fortes colunas formadas por estalactites e estalagmites.

Ao fundo da gruta há uma pequena capela com o altar de Santa Margarida, à esquerda a porta da sacristia metida na rocha e a pequena distância um púlpito em pedra. A capela é cercada de gradeamento de madeira e defendida da humidade por um telhado.

Em 1606 teve confraria.

À entrada, do lado da serra, há um elegante cruzeiro.

Do lado do mar está um penedo denominado do Duque, desde o tempo em que D. Álvaro de Lencastre nele se divertia na curiosa pesca da cana."
